Dr. Cline’s research focuses on insider trading and executive compensation.  His current work in this area identifies patterns of insider trading with the early exercise of executive stock options.  His other research examines the term structure of interest rates and option pricing.  Dr. Cline currently teaches courses in corporate finance and financial derivatives.  He also has taught investments, capital markets, and risk management courses.

 

Dr. Cline has published and served as a reviewer for a number of finance journals.  His other accomplishments include receiving the Manderson Graduate School Outstanding Dissertation Award 2006, the 2006 Outstanding Finance Faculty Award at The University of Alabama, and the 2008 Southern Finance Association’s Outstanding Paper Award in Corporate Finance.  He has presented papers at many of the major finance conferences including the Financial Management Association, Eastern Finance Association, and Southern Finance Association.
