Robert D. Tollison, Professor of Economics and BB&T Senior Fellow, is one of the world’s foremost scholars in the field of public choice. He is an editor of the journal Public Choice and serves on the editorial boards of Constitutional Political Economy and the Journal of Sports Economics and the advisory board of the Encyclopedia of Public Choice. Professor Tollison, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1969, is the author or co-author of eleven books, over 100 articles in books, and over 200 articles in scholarly journals. His recent publications include “Racial Integration as an Innovation: Empirical Evidence from Sports Leagues” in the March 2002 American Economic Review and “An Economic Analysis of the Protestant Reformation” in the June 2002 Journal of Political Economy. He also had a major essay and wight short papers published this year in the Encyclopedia of Public Chioce.This spring he will offer an undergraduate course on antitrust economics and a graduate seminar on the history of economic thought.
